The LinkedIn and YouTube links in the footer lead away from this site. They load only if you open them, and from that point those platforms' own rules apply.
LANGUAGE PREFERENCE
humx_lang
When you pick a language from the menu, the site keeps it in the browser's local storage so that you do not have to pick it again on every page. The stored value is a two-letter code: ro, en, hu or de.
It contains no name, e-mail address, user identifier or any other information about you. It is not sent anywhere: it stays in the browser and is read by the browser.
It has no expiry date. It stays until you clear this site's data from your browser.
HOW TO DELETE IT
Deleting it affects nothing else. On your next visit the site starts in Romanian again and you can pick another language.
Chrome, Edge
Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and site data → See all site data → search for humx.ro → Delete.
Firefox
Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and site data → Manage data → search for humx.ro → Remove.
Safari
Settings → Privacy → Manage website data → search for humx.ro → Remove.
Private browsing
In a private window the preference clears itself when you close the window.
The exact menu names differ between browser versions.
WHAT WE HAVE NOT YET VERIFIED
The above describes the site's code. It does not cover everything that happens when you open a page.
As with any website, the server hosting the pages receives your browser's request, and a request contains the IP address, the time and the browser type. Servers usually keep access logs. The hosting provider and how long those logs are kept are not yet settled for the final setup, so we do not describe them here.
We will update this page once the production setup is fixed. If we ever add analytics tools or other technologies that require your consent, we will ask for it before using them, not after.
LEGAL FRAMEWORK
The reference rule in Romania is Article 4 of Law no. 506/2004, which concerns storing information in the user's terminal equipment and accessing information already stored there. The text is not limited to cookies: it covers the storing of information in general, and therefore local storage in the browser as well.
The technical distinction remains useful, though. A cookie is sent to the server automatically with every request. A value in local storage goes nowhere on its own; it stays in the browser until the page's code reads it. humx_lang is local storage, not a cookie.
The same law provides that no consent is needed for storage strictly necessary to deliver a service explicitly requested by the user. We keep the language precisely because you asked for it, by selecting it. We make no compliance statement here: this page describes what we inspected in the code, and the final assessment is made on the production setup.
